Dan up here in Asia the world never looked like it would stop turning. I just think too much focus is being placed on the woes of the U.S. and not enough on the emergence of Asia as a true economic powerhouse. Time for Americans to end the grieving process...they are not the hardest and most efficient workers the planet has ever seen, but they were the biggest spenders :) There will be life in the U.S after G.M. but not quite the same one as before. Maybe this will mean no more lectures from U.S. officials about how the world should run their financial system? Well at least for a while.

It also looks like D.R is easing back from the end of the world scenario with comments like: "it's no use predicting these things. But for what it's worth, our view is that we're in a bit of a plateau between down moves. The "down moves" will come again in financial stocks, although they may not be as "down" as before"

That sounds like a bear covering it's tracks :)
