Gold’s up another eight cents per ounce today. It’s trading at just over US$1338. That’s quite a rally from June 2nd, when you could buy an ounce of the yellow metal for $1241. My friend and your regular DR editor, Greg Canavan, was spot on with that call back in early June.
Greg sits next to me at Port Philip’s Albert Park office, by the way. As I write this, he’s researching his next value investment recommendation. Once he’s put that all together in his newsletter, Sound Money. Sound Investments., I’m the first person who reads it.
Of course, Greg is only one of over a dozen investment experts whose work passes across my desk every day of the week. And really, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
As the Managing Editor of Port Phillip Publishing, I have access to one of the most intriguing and powerful networks of practical investment insight anywhere in Australia — or in the world for that matter.
And that’s why I’m writing to you today. And why I’ll be writing to you every day for the next two weeks. We’re finally lifting the lid on our newest project.
Our Honorary Chairman and your regular DR contributor, Bill Bonner, actually sowed the seeds for this project more than 35 years ago. Since then, this connected network has grown to over 130 experts in their fields. These gurus work in dozens of cities across the world, spanning five continents.
I imagine you’re already familiar with Bill. And if you’re like me, you look forward to his sharp wit and even sharper insight in your regular Daily Reckoning. Don’t worry. We haven’t bumped him from the DR this week. Today he’s writing about the new French labour law. Apparently the French will be compensated for the difficulty, suffering or pain, involved in a job.
Enough about the French, though, and back to why I’m writing to you today. Did you know that, although Port Phillip Publishing operates independently in Australia, it is a subsidiary of Agora Inc.?
With that tie-in, the knowledge I have daily access to literally criss-crosses the globe. It’s a truly unique network of experts. And they’re all paid to think differently. Different not just from the mainstream, but from each other.
Even though this far reaching group brings diverse ideas to the table, they all work to help you live a better life. How? By giving you better ideas. And by providing alternatives that can change your financial fortunes.
Analysing this trove of global investment research is part of my job. (I have a great job!) But while looking through feedback sent from our readers, I saw that many investors don’t have the time to study a dozen reports each day.
Some readers are ready to begin investing for the first time, but feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. Others complain about the high fees and lower than expected gains of their managed funds.
And I was surprised by the amount of people who are actively investing some of their savings, but report that they are losing money on risky investments that didn’t pan out.
Finally there are the investors who have opted for a Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF). They’re looking for new ideas — safe investments that will produce reliable gains for their retirement.
Do any of these sound like you? But maybe you don’t have the experience, or even the desire, to sort through reams of economic analysis to become an expert in one narrow field.
What you want is practical wealth building advice, specific portfolio recommendations you can use today. You need someone who can get to the point with actionable investment solutions.
Our new project is called the Albert Park Investors Guild. And it represents the first time we’ve truly opened up our network for the Aussie investor who wants practical, alternative ideas to grow and preserve their wealth. Investors who may not have the time, experience, or money that would make one of our other publications a sensible investment.
That’s where belonging to the Guild can make a world of difference. When you take up Guild membership, you’re really joining a network of networks.
You’re joining my personal network, built on a lifetime of world travel and work in business communities on three continents. You’re joining the networks of all the editors here at Port Philip Publishing. That’s several hundred years of combined experience in making and preserving money in financial markets. And you’re joining the Agora — what the ancient Greeks called the marketplace.
And the Guild is a private marketplace — of ideas. Once inside, you’re free to browse around the world of practical investment ideas until you find one that’s right for you.
Ultimately, we want to enable you to find true independence, freedom and prosperity. It’s more than just making better investment decisions. It’s about having an enjoyable and fulfilling life — and having the freedom to live how you want.
Through your association with the Guild, we want to prove beyond any doubt that you can achieve the financial goals you desire.
Meagan Evans, the Guild’s Investment Director, has more to tell you today. She adds her own exceptional network to the Guild’s international web. Meagan also spends many hours every day researching new investment opportunities for Australian investors, dealing with uniquely Australian problems.
Over the next two weeks Meagan and I will be exploring these problems in The Daily Reckoning. And we’ll reveal the Guild’s solutions to overcome them.
If you have any questions or suggestions on this new project, send them to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘Albert Park Investors Guild’.
Tomorrow we’ll take a look at the Guild’s portfolios.
