I see this Bear market marching on a little further... The BS is being believed by enough people. In a similar way we are being told that Swine flu has now infected 10,000 people worldwide. That's not even worth worrying about is it? How many people have a form of the flu on any given day? I would suggest at least 100,000,000 or so. This all smells of yet another engineered fear campaign, US Style, to increse pharmaceutical production whilst diverting attention away from the lies being told about the health of the worlds finacial system and government debt. An article I just read states that "up to 94.3 Million doses of flu vaccine can be produced each week if full scale production is launched". Scare people enough and the demand for vaccines will most certainly be there, if it isn't already and the public will very quickly forget about their futures being mortgaged and their wealth destroyed. I think this is just more of the same cruel game that is being played with the the stock market.... Feed the general public a load of absolute crap such as green shoots of economic recovery, dodgy bank stress tests or Swine Flu, have it supported by so called "experts" through the mass media and most folks will believe it... Someone is making a few billion a day - Dead easy!

Tim...those who want to push gloom and doom were talking about the Dow hitting around 4500 not long ago. Now their story is that the Dow may retest the March lows and then if that does not happen, they will come up with another level and work that somehow into their "doom" scenario.

Yes all rallies come to an end but so do bear markets. For sure we are going through a very nasty bubble correction/bear market but I doubt we will all be going "Mad Max" anytime soon :)

I am certainly not expecting a fantastic worldwide recovery or for the global markets to hit the 2007 highs again anytime soon, but I do think that over the next few years this mess will work itself out even if some governments do their best to make the situation worse.

Of course once this mess is sorted out we will face more economic challenges. People seem to forget that even in the so called "good years" that economic problems such as inflation, high oil prices and and a growing demand for commodities threatened to bring everything unstuck as well.

Such is life I guess...

It sure is hard to kill this rally off but it'll happen eventually and we'll know John Exter was right all along.....at least about the deflationary part of the crash.

The Dow is up another 2.85%, Gold is off $9.60/oz and Silver is down also.... Looks like the so called "Suckers" Bear rally is far from dead. Maybe this is the start of the slow road to recovery?
