i see the same thing here in brisbane. houses that were worth 200k a few years ago (still are in my mind) are being sold for 420k+. this isnt linked to inflation. i know soon those same houses will be either taken by the creditors or sold off for a third of their prices as youve seen in japan.</description>

We lived in Japan throughout that time.
When we visited a few years ago some were trying to sell apartments they bought for $700,000 for $300,000. They still have their mortgages to pay off though.  
And people here in NZ wonder why we refuse to have huge mortgages/private debt.</description>
