I like all of you: Christians, atheists, animists, whatever. It's fine to believe strongly but one should have the humility to realize that we are fallible and our beliefs are subject to the same imperfection that Christ supposedly died for.

Since the fall of Lehman Brothers I have followed your columns pretty regularly as I, along with presumably most of your other “dear readers,” have enjoyed the witty analysis found within them. Furthermore, as a Christian, I had come to enjoy your fondness for biblical allusions, which frequently pepper your commentaries, and had assumed that (perhaps) you had been enlightened by the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Savior. However, your recent column entitled “The Fed Will Cut Rates Today” made clear that, not only was this a false assumption, but, more appallingly, you are just as much a hypocrite as those you rejoice in mocking so regularly.
You have joined the rank and file of hypocrites you scorn, for only a hypocrite would abuse the same sacred writings to which he so frequently alludes and only a hypocrite would commit the same fatal mistake as the one he condemns, which in your case came when you singled out only one set of religious doctrines to censure and “fix.” What’s more, your statement that , “See how easy it is to improve someone else’s religion” was particularly disgraceful since it subtly implied that Newsweek is a Christian publication (which it is NOT) and that, therefore, you would give the Christian Newsweek-reading community of the Western world a taste of its own medicine. But even if you had singled out an animist tribe in Africa that worships rocks, instead of Christianity, your comments would still have been confusingly out of place.
As it is, however, you chose to single out Christianity, Christian “dogma,” and the biblical canon to tarnish, thus leaving your “dear reader” wondering what hidden agenda you have against the Faith?
Shame on you, sir! You have been deceived by your own arrogance and have turned your column into a medium of deception, which will be judged most severely by the Righteous One on the true Day of Reckoning.
But this rebuke, which I do in the Spirit and power of Christ Jesus himself, would be a disgrace to the one I worship and would only serve to demonstrate my own hypocrisy (since I myself was once labeled a “dear reader”) if I weren’t also to rebuke myself. Therefore, I state plainly that I was wrong to return to your column time and again for insight and to allow myself to be seduced by your fine sounding arguments, which I now realize are founded just as much on greed as those you mock. I rebuke myself in the name of Christ Jesus and repent of my sin, in tears, clinging to his righteous sacrifice.
I will pray that your lies are exposed for what they are. I will pray also for your personal salvation, in the name of The Lord Saves, from His Reckoning…
