Yes, building new tech will absorb the extra capital, but if they had simply built airplanes to stimulate airtravel and tourism - without the bombs, surely this would have been a better solution? Today we already have air-travel, and space travel is best left to sci-fi movies. The industry which should take off is that of flying cars. Computer controlled for safety.
